For over four decades I have been a rail and bus photographer.
However, during this time I have aimed the lens at other subjects, be they different transportation, scenery, buildings and other bollocks.
Given these do not really fit the scope of my other sites, I felt compelled to set up a new site so as to inflict my other photographic garbage upon the world. While primarily Philippine and Australian content, there will be the occasional forays into Fiji and Hong Kong. Perhaps other locations should the current pandemic ever allow it.
So sit back and enjoy, or hate, even be indifferent. That choice is purely up to you.
Mandaon is made up of 26 barangays, with a population of 41,122 back in the 2020 census.
The municipality has an area of 319.15 kilometres, that being 7.17% of the whole Masbate Island area.

Ever since my first (very brief) visit to Mandaon way back in 2007, which consisted only of an overnight stay, I had planned to return for a better look.
It took fifteen years for me to make it happen, but happen it did last year. A boat ride across from Lantangan, then a frolick around this interesting port town.
As always, the photo copped a bit of a bashing, and now some of the shots are put here for you to endure.
There will be a part two in the not too distant future.
The Filipino Bangka.
These boats, of a multitude of different colours, are scattered across the islands of the Philippines.
Fun to ride, great to photograph, there is literally many thousands to choose from.
According to Google Streetscape that is Valencia Street to the right.

With the most recent visit by the Google cameras being back in 2016, it is hard to really determine locations now. This would seem likely to be Central Avenue. But, if it is, there has been quite some change in the last seven years.

According to Google again, this is Laguinbanau Road, which we used to get to a relatives house, and on to the old high school of, no doubt, many a family member..

Federico E. Estipona Memorial High School (Mandaon High School).
Thanks to school principle Ms Weng Fenis Baldeo, I now know that the school was named after the Mandaon mayor of the time who initiated the procurement of the land where the school sits.
Originally named 'Mandaon National High School', it was later changed to his name in 1994.
Ever since I was a youngster I have always had an interest in buses and trains, so this was always going to extend to the Philippines when I first started going there in 1999.
Obviously this has meant that I would end up taking a large amount of photographs across the 14 visits since, so much so that I struggle to find the time to place them all on social media individually.
So, in an effort to bore the world further, I shall be doing an occasional series here on the travel blog.
The bus hobby in the Philippines has grown massively over the last decade or so. It is not surprising given the huge variety of bus operators and types that operate around the various islands.
